This society started as a liaison organization interconnecting various areas in the field of technology, coming into being in October 1993 when volunteers got together to create a stage for exchange womanfs point of views on how science and technology should be.  Initially, the society had merely 38 members, but now the number increased to 107 members (The total number of Woman Professional Engineers is now 500).  The organization has a carried out various activities, such as eopinion giving among membersf, einspection tours, get- together meetingsf, eparticipation in the National Convention of the Institution of Professional Engineers, Japan.f  These activities encouraged further exchanges between each member.
eThe Woman Professional Engineers Society of Japanf is by no means a society open only to women. This is an organization for mutual study and development, an organization meant for everybody who seeks closer cooperation. We stand flexibly to create a society accommodating both man and woman equality and to make a greater contribution to the society.

PURPOSE OF SOCIETY

The purpose of the society includes building of a network for woman professional engineers, improvement of technology level and development of special skills among the engineers, interaction between professionals of different disciplines, and exchange of information. We also make efforts to transmit information to related organizations and industries, including the Institution of Professional Engineers, Japan Through the activities mentioned above, the society members work together to solve common issues.
